About the Authors

Co-authoring a novel is fraught with difficulties – not least, maintaining a compatible style, a sense of story and a willingness to compromise. A similar sense for the ridiculous helps!

One

One was born in southern England in a nondescript commuter town that really should never be visited. For a not inconsiderable number of years One has resided and worked in Germany as a teacher and lecturer in English, intrigued by both similarities and differences in British and German culture. One has always wanted to write a novel but has been unsure how One should commence this rather solitary affair.

And then came along the Other Equally Important One with a similar wish and determination.

The Other Equally Important One

One was born in the north German town where Ones met and both Ones live nowadays. Long before One started teaching English and history in this town, One taught German at two schools in the South West of England and had ample of time to soak up the many eccentricities of the British – certainly worth writing about one day, one felt! One of these was cider, a frightfully decent drink that would later help a great deal to harmonise One’s own writing style with that of the Other One.
